What to Expect
Shavuot: Giving - Proclamation - Blessing - Kingdom Culture
"You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath. Then you shall present a (new) grain offering of new grain to ADONAI.
You shall bring from your dwelling places two loaves of bread to be waved. They shall be of fine flour, and they shall be baked with leaven, as firstfruits to ADONAI.
And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits as a wave offering before ADONAI. They shall be holy to ADONAI for the priest.
And you shall make proclamation on the same day. You shall hold a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work. It is a statute forever in all your dwelling places throughout your generations."
Leviticus 23:16-17, 20-21
"You are to observe the festival of Shavu'ot [weeks] for ADONAI your God with a voluntary offering, which you are to give in accordance with the degree to which ADONAI your God has prospered you."
Deuteronomy 16:10
Shavuot is a time for the giving of firstfruits, the making of proclamations, and the receiving of His blessings through our alignment.
Every time we follow an instruction / an observance, we are aligning ourselves with His precepts, His commandments, and His covenants. Shavuot is no different.
We are to complete our Omer Count by having a Holy Convocation on the 50th day - a High Sabbath: Shavuot. This High Sabbath is observed by presenting a new firstfruits grain offering of two (2) loaves of bread baked with leaven. These loaves are to be waved by the priest (pastor, spiritual covering, spiritual leader, etc.) along with your voluntary firstfruits offering, which you are to give in accordance with how much ADONAI has prospered you. The priest waves these firstfruit offerings as a wave offering before ADONAI. They are holy to the LORD for the priest.
Firstfruits Giving & Proclamation Ceremony
"And you shall make proclamation on the same day."
The instructions for this beautiful proclamation over you and your firstfruits offerings is found in Deuteronomy 26.
We will have this Firstfruits Giving & Proclamation Ceremony printed out for you so you won't have to mesmerize the proclamations unless you desire to. We will also have baskets on hand for your grain offering of two (2) loaves and your freewill firstfruits offering.
Allan and Cristina with Lenny and Linda will be receiving and waving your firstfruit offerings, leading you in your proclamations, and praying the blessing(s) over you. Anticipate / expect prophetic words and/or words of knowledge as well as healing to flow! We will have the other speakers, etc. at the ready for whatever Holy Spirit has planned.
PLEASE NOTE: If you would like to arrange to purchase your loaves of bread in advance, you have two options:
- 1. You may purchase it at a grocery store (any loaf of bread is acceptable), or
- 2. You may request challah to be made by Saphraine Walker at saphraine@chameleonchurch.com - $12 for two large loaves - deadline to request and pay for the loaves is 05.20.23)
Pentecost: Indwelling - Power - Authority - Kingdom Culture
"I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."
Luke 24:49
Jesus said to them... "As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you." And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit."
John 20:21-22
"...you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you..."
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
"...this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel: 'And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.'"
Acts 1:8a; 2:1-4, 16-18
Pentecost: The Fiftieth Day
Strong’s #G4005 “penthkosthv”:
- 1. the second of the three great Jewish feasts, celebrated at Jerusalem yearly, the seventh week after the Passover, in grateful recognition of the completed harvest
Because of the fulfillment of Messiah at Passover (death), the Feast of Unleavened Bread (burial) and the Feast of Firstfruits (resurrection); because of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the Covenant made at Sinai, Shavuot, is attainable (Zion)! Torah was given, and the covenant to keep those instructions occurred at Sinai: Shavuot. Messiah rose from the dead, the power of Holy Spirit – the Fire of Sinai – fell as covenant Fire on those in the upper room to keep those instructions for Zion’s sake: Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4).
Just as the resurrection of Yeshua represents the Firstfruits of those who have died (1 Cor. 15:20) and fulfills the prophetic ritual of the waving of the omer on the festival of Firstfruits, so the giving of the Holy Spirit to the church fulfills the wave offering of the wheat loaves on the day of Shavuot.
